The Norwex Mattress Cleaner is designed to eliminate dust mites and all organic material that exists in mattresses, pillows, sofas, bedding and stuffed toys, that may exacerbate allergy symptoms and asthma. It contains the dormant or resting stage of live bacteria. When they find a food source, and other growing conditions are right, the bacteria become active, producing enzymes (a type of protein) that break down accumulated dust mites, dust mite faecal matter, pet dander, dead skin cells or any organic matter which causes unpleasant odours, allowing this matter to be consumed.

My journey with norwex began when a friend loaned me her Mattress Cleaner for our son's severe eczeme and dust mite allergy! I was amazed!!
Rebecca Allpass, Vice President Sales Leader, QLD, Creating safer havens for six years.

They will continue to consume this material until all organic matter is removed, converting it into carbon dioxide and water. Once there is nothing left for them to feed on, the bacteria disintegrate.

The spray is safe for children and pets, because there is nothing in it different from what is around us on a daily basis. We are surrounded by a micro-world of bacteria and other microbes that keep each other in balance and this same micro-world exists on our skins, in our mouths and throughout our bodies.

HOW TO USE: Although the Mattress Spray does not contain acids, alkalis or solvents, it is important to use the product correctly. Shake before use, then spray once or twice on a pillow, 5-6 sprays on a single bed, 7-8 on a double bed, 9-10 on a queen bed and 10-12 on a king size bed.

Allow to air dry before making bed with clean sheets. If too much product is used (more than the mattress can absorb), it is possible that an allergy-sensitive person may react.

WHEN TO USE: Most of my customers find that applying every 3 months is sufficient, or every 4-6 weeks in an asthmatic’s home. Use on baby mattresses is not necessary, as these plastic covered crib mattresses are designed to inhibit mite permeation.

Some customers just spray it again when the most sensitive person in their house starts sneezing in the mornings!

The Mattress Cleaner has a two year shelf life and should be stored closed, in a cool place.

Here’s Senior leader Linda Pearce on using the mattress cleaner:
