How to use the Norwex Bamboo Multipurpose Cloth

How to use the norwex bamboo multipurpose cloth. image shows a grey cloth with green piping around the edges, folded into quarters.

The new(ish) bamboo multipurpose cloth is a bit like a cross between the EnviroCloth and the old all-purpose kitchen cloth (aka the grease cloth), and bit like neither.

It’s a bit scrubbier than the EnviroCloth and is the best cloth Norwex have come up with so far on grease (in my opinion – and I did test it against the old grease cloth and an envirocloth). It’s also made of 44% bamboo, which means it doesn’t have the icky microfibre feel some people can’t stand!

It does also have BacLock®, which offers continuous protection against microbes and odours within the cloth, AND makes it mildew-resistant, keeping it cleaner and fresher, longer.

The bamboo comes from a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified forest.

How to use it?

Much the same as an envirocloth. Use it damp and wrung out – the less water that’s in it the scrubbier it will be. Fold it in half and in half again, and use the flat side, rather than using it scrunched up: this is mechanical cleaning, so you want to get as much surface area of the cloth connecting with your dirt, as possible.

For extra power, you can pair it with the cleaning paste, oven and grill cleaner, or biozyme dish soap, but my advice is to always try it just with water first, before reaching for a consumable product. 🙂

Note: it is not recommended for use on easily scratched surfaces such as brushed stainless steel and surfaces with special coatings.

Microfibre Care Instructions

When looking after your Norwex microfibre, remember to wash without fabric softener or chlorine bleach and use a high quality filler free laundry detergent. You can wash in hot or cold water, and dry in the dryer or on the line. If washing with your regular washing, I recommend putting your microfibre in a good quality laundry washing bag.

I also recommend washing your kitchen and body cloths in hot water at least some of the time, and giving them a soak with the enzyme based microfibre booster from time to time.

You can buy the bamboo multipurpose cloth from me, in Australia. You can also get it discounted as part of the Healthy Kitchen Set.
