Where to Buy Blueberry Bushes

So many people come to our article on Growing Blueberry Bushes, when they really want to buy the plants, that I thought I would add in this short article to tell you where to buy them online.
As with most plants, the best place to buy your blueberry bushes is often your local nursery. They will be able to give you specific advice about what grows well in your area, and what specific needs they will have. Make sure you talk to someone who has real experience though, not just a barely trained shop assistance. Going to a nursery that specialises in fruit trees can be a good idea, if possible.
However, if you prefer to buy online, there are many options.
In the US, UK and Europe  and parts of Asia, you can buy many cultivars from Amazon.
potted blueberry bush covered in fruitFor instance the US site has Toro Blueberry bushes, ‘Pink Lemonade’ blueberries, and Duke blueberry bushes, among others. They also sell seeds.
In Australia you can buy the bushes online from Daley’s Fruit Tree Nursery or Perry’s Fruit and Nut Nursery or Australian Gardener.
We also have an extensive article on how to grow blueberry bushes.
Have you bought a blueberry bush online? If you have, please share in the comments – where did you buy it (include a link if you have one), and would you recommend them?
Disclaimer: If you purchase a plant from Amazon through a link on this page, I will make a small commission, helping to support the running of this site. The other sites are also good choices though.

  1. They also sell them at retail stores such as Bunnings and Mitre 10. I purchased a nelly Kelly blueberry bush its quite compact but hardy and fast growing.

  3. Hi Kirsten, I’ve been growing blueberries for a few years now but I hardly ever come across other Australians who grow them. What type are you growing there? When do you get your best harvests? Thanks for the post.

    1. Hi Rhonda,
I have Brigitta, which is late season, and I can’t remember now what else! I thought I had it written down, but alas no. I’ll ask my husband if he can remember later. They’re fairly young plants, and we actually have them still in large pots, near the door, so we never get very many berries by the time my youngest gets at them! But she’s five now, so maybe next year (this year we were o/s, and my house sitters didn’t mention any berries, which I suspect means they didn’t keep the water up to them enough – I’ve found the berries drop in a heat wave, if they aren’t watered daily, being in pots).
My mum (who also lives in Canberra, and not far from us) also grows them, but I’m not sure what kinds she has. A few different ones I think. What kind do you grow?

        1. Oh that’s interesting. I keep wanting to get them in the ground, but keep not coming up with a good spot that isn’t also a spot my dog will dig them up from (which obviously would make it a less good spot!).
Thanks for commenting on my site by the way. My Mum has your book (the first one), and I’m sure it was your blog, year and years ago (AGES in internet terms) that inspired and supported a lot of the changes I made my my life. So I feel like I’ve been visited by royalty 😀
